raised garden beds: hugelkultur instead of irrigation.
Interesting – have never seen this before (as far as I know! π )
Could be good for the future….

Here’s a photo that I nabbed from someone’s Facebook page…. she makes these coats and sells them on Etsy…. here’s the link to her site – all the other links are on there π
I would most definitely wear this. And I would live in that house…. seriously – check out the site for more pictures. Apparently the coats sell out on Etsy within minutes…. “like” the Facebook page to be kept up to date on future sales.
So… I would live in that house…
…. and I would like this in my back yard (Maybe as a studio?)

A while ago I posted about the book I did for the Sketchbook Challenge… it has been digitised and is now online… here is the link –
I am a bit ambivalent about it… as with most projects, I left it till the last minute, and then stayed up a few nights to get it done… consequently, I look at it and think, “Could do better…” I tend to think it’s a poor specimen of literature. I’m still glad I finished it.
What do you think? π

This is a Tardis sewing kit….If you want to see what’s inside, go hereΒ Β π Β The pin heads are mini figures of the Tenth Doctor, Rose, an Adipose baby and an Empty Child….
see more TDW GeeksΒ (but can’t guarantee child friendliness on main site..)
I’ve been waiting till I can post the photos of my latest ATC (Artist Trading Card) Swap (I like to wait till the hostess of the swap posts photos of all the participants’ cards on the relevant site π )
This time around, I did two swaps – the first one was “Alice in Wonderland”, the other was “Rainbows”.
“Alice” & “The White Rabbit”
I wanted to update the characters a little bit, and try to depict something closer to what was in my head… I also didn’t want to mimic either the original illustrations, or the Disney version. I’m happy with how they turned out, but they still never look like what I see in my head…
“Eat Me, Drink Me” & “The Caterpillar”
“The Duchess” & “The Mad Hatter”
“Cheshire Cat” & “The Queen Of Hearts”
I wanted a fairly monochrome effect (black, white and sepia, with touches of gold ink)
The rainbow cards are simple – just quotes in rainbows π
So, that’s this swap π I enjoy working out how to tackle each theme, and I’ve been able to use many different methods to achieve the end results…. now – if only I could work out how to finish them before the very last minute!
Twig and Toadstool: Here Comes the Sun Week!!! Let’s Weave a Giant Sun!!!.
Just roaming through various blogs…. here’s a summer craft. Seems a long way away… I like the look of this, though π
Went down to Crafty today, to check out their closing down sale. They’re closing on Thursday, and will then be online (the address will be http://www.crafty.com.au, I believe – I haven’t linked it because it’s not active at the moment)
If you like scrapbooking stuff, check them out (down at Wharf St) Β π I wasn’t going to buy anything (too much of a luxury at the moment), but the ribbons were 75% off, and my stash is getting low…. got the ribbons below (9 metres!) for less than $5.00!
I love ribbons! π
Went with my little bean to his kids’ group (it was Mum’s night). We played games, and made different things. He painted me a garden stake in the shape of a heart (because I love hearts), and a cute little dragonfly magnet, made from paddle pop sticks and sequins π
We also made some little sweet things, which were very, very cute π I thought I’d share them with you, in case you have any kid’s birthday parties coming up…. (I would have taken photos if they’d lasted longer than supper…)
Teacup Biscuits
Need – 1 round biscuit (we had hundreds and thousands biscuits)
1 marshmallow
1 chocolate freckle
Half a lifesaver
small quantity of icing, to use as paste.
First, place the biscuit pretty side up. Use the icing to stick the marshmallow to the biscuit, then icing again to stick the chocolate freckle to the top of the marshmallow. Stick the half lifesaver to the side of the marshmallow, and – voila! – a cute little teacup! Repeat as necessary until everyone has a cuppa π
Teddy Cars
Need – 1 snack size Snickers or Mars Bar
1 Tiny Teddy biscuit
4 M&Ms
Chocolate icing as paste
Take the Snickers or Mars Bar, and cut a little slit across the top of the bar, and a little towards one end. Push the Tiny Teddy biscuit into the slit, so it looks like it’s driving a car. Use the icing to stick the M&Ms to the sides of the bar, to represent wheels.
These are so cute! We’ve decided to do them for littlest bean’s birthday party later on in the year π
Eat and be merry!
