Little Boxes

Had a lovely time today, going through boxes in preparation for our eventual move. I felt great that I had the ability to achieve as much as I did, but it was perhaps more than I should have done 😆 We shall see tomorrow!
I’ve been packing bits and pieces for a while, but we’ve finally breached the dreaded CupboardUnderTheStairs. After (14…15…who knows?) years of homeschooling, there are boxes and boxes of paper. Sweet Bean finished his schooling at a distance ed school, but up until then we were flying under the radar with the education authorities, and got into the habit of saving schoolwork just in case we were called to account somewhere along the line. It’s been interesting seeing some of the early attempts again (and there’s still lots to look through!) but it takes ages to sort out the keep/throwaway piles.
Part of my packing strategy involves using as much “dead” space as I can – anything with any space to spare gets something shoved into it! This included all my Tardises (Tardisi?) at one point. At least one of them seems bigger on the inside!

There’s still room! 😆

Rest day tomorrow, then I’ll get stuck in again.
We still don’t really know where we’re going yet, but it should be interesting.
And there’s one thing I do know –

A Good Story

Look what I found yesterday, hidden amongst other harmony hearts (they chime…) in a basket! It’s even tardis blue (or close enough)! And yes – that is a real colour.

The quote itself was said by the Eleventh Doctor – here’s the clip 🙂

Go out and live your good story!

Night Lights

We went to the Ipswich Lantern Parade this evening. I think it’s the first time it’s been done so late – there were a variety of lanterns, a well as other forms of lighting. The hot air balloon company shooting a huge flame into the air was quite spectacular. We were a bit worried each time it passed under trees, though…
It was fun, and I’m glad we went. Way too many cars at the start, though.

photo (57)Just before the parade started.

Littlest Bean was quite excited. He tried some of the craft – a block printed banner, and a clay head sculpture. He won a couple of things at the kids’ activities (including a Lego mini-figure set – much excitement!), but we were looking forward to seeing the Tardis. It’s at a shop in town, and festival-goers could have their photo taken there. Little bean wore both his and my medals from a virtual fun run we did a while back…

I believe it normally serves as a changing room…
With his curls, and a floppy hat and scarf, he could have been the fourth Doctor.
We had fun. Glad to be home, though.

Festival

Went to the Ipswich Festival this afternoon, starting with the parade..

Littlest boy waiting for the parade to start.

Lots of people in town today..

The theme was Fairytales…

100_6300

There were balloons..

100_6305

..old bikes..

100_6307

… and a dragon. Because, why not?

100_6313

After the parade we caught up with some people we met last year, who happened to be in town and unexpectedly contacted us to meet up. They didn’t realise it was the festival.. we had an enjoyable evening, sharing pizza and catching up..
There were various attractions dotted about the mall, including “living statues”..

100_6315

.. but this made my day!

100_6317

ooooo-weee-oooooooo!

100_6319

Another view. Just because.. 😀

Now, sometimes when I see the Tardis, there’s a little voice in my head that says, “THE ANGELS HAVE THE PHONE BOX!”
That’s OK, though, because there’s no sign of…

100_6321

DON’T BLINK!!

Here’s the Angel in action…

There was a not-quite cyberwoman on a segway..

100_6325

Because Ipswich is cool that way..

One of the friends we met up with bought a lightsaber, which gave me my last photo of the night.

There’s really nothing left to say..

Mad Hatting

On Sunday, our church is having a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party for Mothers’ Day. I don’t have a hat for it (especially not a mad one!), but if I did, I would like it to be some sort of steampunk…

I quite like this one..

…. although it’s supposed to be a witch’s hat… has any witch ever really worn this style hat?

My preference would be for a top hat…. here are my favourites 😀

A Mad Hatter Hat!

… and, to finish off, a Tardis Steampunk Top Hat!

Because top hats are cool.
