Driving, Dads And Doughnuts

Sunday just gone was Fathers’ Day. We didn’t celebrate riotously, but I think my Babe enjoyed it.
We went very early to church for the morning service, as Sweet Bean was on the camera. When we got there, a car was parked in the cafe…

Beautiful, but unexpected…
There were other classic cars out the front for the Dads to drool over. I quite enjoyed looking at them as well – they may not be the best choice for economising on petrol, but they are gorgeous to look at!
The men (18+) were given a Krispy Kreme doughnut to enjoy after the service. Sweet Bean just missed out – he turns 18 on Friday ❤
Back home for a substantial lunch, then an afternoon snooze – after opening presents!

It was a good day.
One of the best things was the morning sermon…
Feeling unsure about fatherhood – either yours to your kids, or your father’s to you?

A Man And His Day

It’s been a lovely Father’s Day – family spending time together, good food, laughter and love..
..things that are present throughout the year, but it’s good to stop sometimes… take stock… acknowledge the good.

Sometimes our church has an “obSERVEd” section in the service, where people who serve behind the scenes, or in other capacities, and may not necessarily be seen, are recognised for what they contribute. They get to cuddle a plush lollipop during the service, and take a real lollipop home…

Today was hubby’s turn. 😀

…totally unexpected – no hints beforehand…
I am so proud of him, and pleased that others recognise the good stuff –
A happy Father’s Day indeed..

Hubby’s favourite verse –
“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” – Matthew 6:33
