We’ve had this clip during church services the last couple of weeks – a reminder of what we’re celebrating tomorrow..
..and this is a reworking of an old favourite..

My first carol service of the season!
I’ve heard about the carols under the big tree for years, but I’ve never been able to go. This year, we finally got there, although had to leave early because of other commitments. I love singing carols! There was choir singing, and toddlers singing – lovely, although one enterprising little boy worked out how to hog the microphone for a while.. A family band did a beautiful country/folksy rendition of “O Holy Night”, one of my favourite carols. Next year we’ll have to try to stay the whole evening..
Sorry about the poor quality – my twilight photography is not amazing..
The second photo was to show the bright star at the top of the tree.
There were also reindeer..
There’ll be more carols to come –
Enjoy your next carol service! π
This was sung as part of our Christmas services this year… there are quite a few beautiful songs from Mary’s perspective – they help me remember that she was a real, and quite young, woman, faced with a huge responsibility, and given a huge blessing…
Here’s another Christmas song, from a different perspective – by a “heathen, and a pagan… on the side of the rebel Jesus”
Have a blessed and joyous Christmas!
We’ve had this video at church for the last two weeks… Jesus’ story throughout the history of the world… a glimpse of what we celebrate in a few days π
I couldn’t figure out how to embed it, and couldn’t buy the download, so here’s the link to have a look at it… it’s well worth the effort!
Went to a Women’s event at church last Friday, where we made gingerbread houses… the object seemed to be to see how many sweets we could cram on to one small house. It was lots of fun! The general consensus seemed to be that if your house stayed up, it was a success π
Here’s the front – with path. And snow π
The back – a cross and heart… candy canes are so versatile…
All wrapped up, and a space made for it to live in for a while..
… and two little gingerbread men
(who were eaten the next day.. π )
