Having A Laugh

I’m still climbing out of the dark chasm of feeling-absolutely-horrible.
Probably sitting somewhere between ordinary-icky-take-a-rest and ooh-let’s-go-to-the-shops-(if-we-don’t-take-too-long) right now.
Biggest Boy is not too well at the moment, although his 4-in-1 test was also negative. So, we have/had something. Just not something with an easily identifiable name 😆
I’m able to read and watch YouTube (and enjoy both!) without overdoing it. I was even able to watch church online yesterday – yay! The week before it was too much to stay upright for that long…

The weather is still cooling, and I’m hoping to do some work this week. I’m booked for a Micro Business Skills course later in June, so it makes sense to get some work done towards the business itself!

No interesting photos to share.
I have a variety of views from my window (as seen from the bed), not sure anyone wants to see a range of cloud formations…
But I have a couple of new songs I’ve enjoyed over the weekend 😀

No Beyonce.
Enjoy anyway!

…and here’s a way to have a laugh at yourself, while gently teasing your fans…
(you’ll need to put the captions on [that little “CC” button on the bottom])

Here’s to a brighter week!

With interesting cloud formations.

Once More Round The Sun

Another year older…

I have had such a lovely day!
From not being able to venture far from my door these last few years, to rambling round the second hand book and charity shops of suburban Brisbane! 🙂
Bit tired now, though.

We started out in Paddington, in a charity shop I’ve been to before.

A nice, leafy part of the suburb.
One of the things I like about this place is that they have a big section outside with free books – yay!

The CDs were from inside, so, not free (but just $1 each), and the C.S.Lewis trilogy at the top was from Koorong – marked down drastically to $10 because of the “tear” on the front cover. Yes – that tiny flap on the top right… All the others were free, and included books from three series that I collect 😀

From there we went to check out The Cupboard Under The Stage, which is inside an antiques shop, presumably in a building that used to be a theatre.

It was very blue.

…and theatrical.

No books for me, but I was glad to have seen it.

From there, we wandered across to West End.
Looked around, didn’t buy anything.
Saw a mural, hidden round the back of a shop, and peeling a bit.

We had morning tea at Hope Street Cafe.

Pretty 🙂
I only had a taste, though.

I had a hot chocolate with cardamom and rosewater syrup.
It was…interesting. A bit coconut-y, for some reason. But nice.

The greenery made lovely shadows on the wall.

I enjoyed being out and about.
I also enjoyed coming home and having a cup of tea!

Apart from my books, I picked up some lovely things, and my Mum gave me some more.

The perfume bottle has dragonflies around it.

The jingly lavender-scented bird is guarding some of my books.

As is the happy little mermaid.

And the tiny unicorn (with the broken horn 😦 ) has made its home at the end of a rainbow.

All of this, and a beautiful bouquet from church 🙂

This getting older’s not so bad!
