The school year has started, and everything seems a bit more focused now – no more lazy days reading and relaxing. It’s taken me a lot longer than I expected to get back in the swing of things.
Sweet Bean is doing well so far – two days in and all is calm.
The holidays have flown by so fast! It was good while it lasted, though.
Hubby and I went to the launch of a new ice-cream parlour last week. It was a sort of “goodbye” to holidays, as well as the chance to try out some gorgeous flavours. It’s called Ungermann Brothers Ice-Cream Parlour. The place is decorated like it’s theΒ 50s – the servers wear lovely red and white polka dot dresses, and there’s black and white tile on the floor and a juke box in the corner.

The menu is interesting… I can’t see myself getting a cone of roasted garlic ice-cream, although I would like to try it.

We chose a lavender and honeycomb in a gluten free cone for me, and a dark chocolate and mandarin cone for hubby. The flavours were quite strong, but good.

Yum! π
In our previous forays into cafes during the holidays I came across a quote that seemed apposite for this year.

I don’t know what’s going to happen this year. I have deadlines that will only be met if I go out and make something happen… I have the good company already, and good food and coffee will follow.
Now to step out and appreciate this life!
