… but seems a tad impractical 😀
Silly Billy
It’s been a day of good friends all round 😀
Littlest bean went to Aussie World today, for a friend’s birthday…. he (and the others) had a great time…. rides and fun, and a McDonald’s Happy Meal on the way home.
It doesn’t get much better than that….
Included in his party bag were two of those little umbrellas you get in drinks. Apparently these are amazingly funny…
“Hey Mum – look at me! I’m Del Boy!…
… I’ll just go and get another half a lager….”
This may be an indication that we are watching too much British comedy…..
Smile!
Took some photos of my beautiful boys to send off in various letters… couldn’t resist showing them off…
Aren’t they gorgeous? 😀
And Another…..
Warning
by Jenny JosephÂ
When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn’t go, and doesn’t suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we’ve no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I’m tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick flowers in other people’s gardens
And learn to spit.
You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickle for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.
But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.
But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.Â
Cute Smile
Last week, at littlest boy’s kid’s group, we did activities together (I wrote about the edible ones last week 😀 ) One of these activities was dressing up and having photos taken…. we got the prints tonight.
I apparently could have scanned these in, but that would have been a bit of a rigmarole… I’ve taken photos of the photos…. hope they came out ok…
(sorry about the reflection…)
Here’s my favourite…
My Baby Turns 12….
…and he’d be horrified if he heard me calling him “my baby”…. 😀
His birthday was yesterday, the party was today. It rained all day…. we had to come up with indoor games relating to bionicles….
He invited his friends, a lovely group of boys… they all had a great time, even though they were stuck inside. We weren’t able to play the ball game that was intended (because of the rain), so the plan is to invite them all back another day to play…
All the food was bionicle related….
These are meant to relate to fire (the red things are flames)
The meringue at the back is “ice” (snow), the fudge is “earth”, the sweets are “rock”, and the cheezel thingies are “air”.
The snake sweets are “bog snakes”, and the homemade lemonade is “venom”….
That’s the mask of Phantoka Lewa on the top. (I never want to use marzipan again…..)
We had a great time… but I’m glad it’s over 😀 Bed time soon!
The Joy of New Horizons
We decided that the boys could double up on schoolwork, in exchange for a day off tomorrow (Biggest boy’s birthday 😀 )
That still meant that Biggest boy had to finish a story he’d been set – we’ve come to a point that the half-a-page half-thought-out  mini stories he usually does are not enough… Hubby took him through bullet points/outlines (again), then set him his task.
This morning he found that he actually CAN write a longer story – just over 1000 words, in fact! He’s very proud of himself, and now has a glimpse of the fact that he is capable of so much more 😀
It’s obviously quite a funny story, as well, judging from the giggling going on in his room while he was writing….
