Hello, all! π
Here’s a quick post to show off my biggest boy’s creativity… he loves doing stop motion animation, and can spend hours on it..
This one is not one of his longest (and it uses some video recording as well) but it’s for a competition he’s entered…
Enjoy! π
Sorry.
Not feeling well today.
A pun seemed the best solution….
Here’s the photos of our felt making workshop a couple of days ago… the process seemed quite simple, but still a lot of work (lots of rolling/agitating). I like the results – there’s a lot of potential there π
This was Biggest Boy’s piece –

He mumbled and grumbled before we started, then decided he’d “messed it up”… I thought it turned out well..
..as one of the instructors said, “In felting, there’s no mistakes – just opportunities!”
Littlest Bean had a great time!

He wanted to include Blue Bear on his piece, so it was an experiment for all concerned..
(Blue Bear was very excited to be immortalised in felt..)
I wanted hearts and flowers on mine.. it sort of worked.. lots of lovely colours, though! π
On Sunday afternoon there was a free workshop in town, so of course we were there π It was basic weaving, with branches and vines… we did wreaths, but I saw others with big branches, weaving wool and fibres between the branches. It’s interesting to try some new skills, and we can expand on them later…
This was Littlest Bean’s.. he made the basic wreath, with a tree woven into the middle…
Biggest Boy made three wreaths, interwoven together… each is made woven through the other – he only twisted the sides together for stability..
This is mine.. I kept finding bits of wool that were so lovely, I wanted to use them somehow… it’s a sort of “tree in grass with a cloudy/overcast sky, with the sun shining through”…
We did felt making today… will post on that later! π
Littlest Bean went to a fancy dress party on Saturday. It was Disney themed, and he chose Dash from The Incredibles… we had to rustle up a costume that would withstand at least a bit of running around. It’s amazing what you can achieve with scraps of material, thread and a bit of glue π
Here’s our Superboy…
… and the action shots…
Β
We used a pair of his pyjamas, which had to be turned inside out to hide the tags/images (they were Batman pyjamas) but I think it worked OK..
Today, I had all sorts of ideas on what to post – I was going in all different directions, and couldn’t make a choice… we had a disappointing day, in one respect, but still are blessed and loved.. there was so much I could say..
In the end, I went on a ramble round the block, taking random photos as I went… nothing too fancy, just what cught my eye.
Here they are.. π
I’ve had a gorgeous weekend! Busier than I’d thought it would be… caught up with friends… made new friends…
.. and laughed. I like laughing..
This morning, however, I’m feeling a bit off-colour.
Not sick…
Just … not well.
So I’ve been wandering round my brain, chilling with my sidekick, Internet, and wondering what I could come up with..
Not much, actually.
Nevertheless…
..have been checking out C.S.Lewis quotes on Pinterest.. here’s one

I was talking to a friend yesterday morning about the dream of creating a Christian healing community, and to another friend yesterday evening about my plans/dreams to do a naturopathy course (which would eventually fit in with the community plans…) The way I feel today, it seems ridiculous. Out of reach. Undoable. I do feel a bit old and decrepit today…

The dream keeps growing, in my head. I am unable to do it on my own.
Fortunately, I am not on my own….
I still believe God has placed the dream in me… so He will send the resources and abilities to realise it. Don’t know when… but I suppose there’s no point worrying about it.
One foot in front of the other.. identify the next step, and take it.
π
I love my life in God. It’s always an adventure… it’s always moving ahead..

Tomorrow I will feel better.
Tomorrow, I will take another step.

Today, I will rest. Drink tea.
… and finish with one of my favourite quotes..

Something that I wanted to do at the old house, but never did..
Fairy doors are purely decorative π and range from simple to intricate… I would have just made the tree ones, but why not indoor doors… like whimsical littleΒ mouseholes?

They probably won’t be used by fairies…
… but they may just let some imagination through!

The other day we went to the animal enclosure at Queen’s Park. We checked out the lizards and snakes, said hello to the wallabies, emus and dingoes, and chatted to the farm babies at the end of the circuit. It was fun (and littlest bean looked like he was in animal heaven…)
In the middle of the circuit there’s a mosaic sculpture, and a mosaic seat called the Numbellie SeatΒ (The Everybody Seat)
The plaque on the end says it “depicts the story of the creation of the land of the Yuggera, Jagara and Ugurapul peoples, told by Aboriginal storyteller Shannon Ruska“. It seems to have been a collaborative effort between Artist, Storyteller, and various school kids…
I like the idea of mosaic… that you can take what was broken, shattered, only fit to be thrown out… and transform it into a thing of beauty – something that tells a story… heals a heart… speaks peace.
In my life there have been times when I felt shattered and broken… like rubbish, shunned and only fit to be thrown away…
I know that was not the truth of who I was – but it was how I felt…
Many years ago, God gave me a verse that told me what He saw, and comforted me in a broken place…
“O afflicted city, lashed by storms and not comforted,
I will build you with stones of turquoise,
your foundations with sapphires.
I will make your battlements of rubies,
your gates of sparkling jewels,
and all your walls of precious stones.” – Isaiah 54:11-12
It helped me to see that I did not have to stay where I was – that He would rebuild me, stronger and better than before…
Β Even the “underside” parts of life can be incorporated to sparkle and let the sun shine through!
Is my life peaceful and easy now? … Well, not so as you’d notice π
… but my healed cracks and fractures tell the story of my Creator-
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.”
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” – 2 Corinthians 4:7-10, 16-18
… whether I stand in sunshine or in storm, I still stand firm in Him π
… is the name of my hubby’s new site! He’s been working on it for years, in one form or another, but this is the first time it’s actually made it to the online community π
…so – check it out here!
If you’ve ever wanted to learn guitar or bass, or wondered how to play the blues – here’s your chance! Not all the lessons are up, but they’re on the way…
Everything is free to download, but if you like what you see, there’s a facility to donate the price of a cup of tea…
Go forth! Play music!
… and don’t forget to let my talented hubby know what you think about it all! π
